A Poet's Heart

A poet's heart is emotional indeed
And pours like rain in the desert sun
Without hesitation with wit and words
The poet makes the world go round.

A connoisseur who marvels someone's heart
With words of wisdom and love.
The heart of a poet could make another bleed
And weep or laugh or lust.

An ordinary phrase could turn uncold
With his charm and guile.
But to a poet whose heart is gold
Nothing shines as someone's smile.
