Cosine before Sin

by Dawn Ariscent   Sep 17, 2010

Your ideas are ridiculous
They make my ears bleed
So many intelligent people
So many spiritually stupid

My spirituality is within myself
I believe in what I see, I hear, I feel
According you, God gave me these things
He also gave us science?
And murderers?
And hell?
And Gabriel?

Excuse me,
If God, the unchanging and everlasting
Is still the inexperienced one
Who created angels
Who created the devil
Inadvertently?

Truthfully, you will not force
Me into submission
I am scared
That I am wrong

But not so scared
As to follow the ridiculous rules
Making a hell on earth
To create a heaven in everlasting life

The only definite things
Are things I can prove
To know is true
By my reasonable trial and error

Not to read a book
Written by the followers
Of a charismatic son
Who cheated death
In such a way,
That none of us can imagine
That would be allowed of us

Yes, I believe this book
It happened
Explanations are out of our grasp
But these explanations
Are ridiculous

Ridiculous hypocrites
None are righteous
Not even God
