I'll Never Know

by Christie   Sep 30, 2010

I mourn for the invaluable time lost,
The years I wish you could have been there,
For the memories I didn't know I missed,
Happy Despair.

I wish I'd been old enough to enjoy,
Knowing it'll never be the same,
Keep him close, he's yours to cherish,
Emotionless Pain.

Instead my head was filled with
All the ways you spoke his name,
He'll always be the same to me,
Contented Shame.

I wish I could have realised
You can't miss someone you don't know,
I wonder if things would have changed,
Elated Sorrow.
