The Ending

by cupcake   Oct 3, 2010

Staring out the window she begins to think
seeing pass the bars and fence
she recalls a time when life was easy
and smiles weren't superficial.

She laughed, she played,...she was innocent
A life shortly lived,it seems so long ago
She cried, she begged,...she died inside
Once so pure, now stained with lies.

The tears begin to stream as the memory fades
with the mask in back in place she walks out the door
The future she sees is brighter than her past....

Yet the quote : "A successful future means never forgetting your past" is what she lives by. It got her through her boubts of depression..... and it's the last thing she says to herself before she pulls the trigger.
