Phony

by Jackie Martinez   Oct 4, 2010

I see you wearing your tight clothes,
I hear you laughing your made up laugh,
I feel you being someone you know you're not,
I smell you wearing those hopefully seductive scents.

In my mind, I wonder, Why?
Why do you pretend?

Your friends love you,
So why do you stick the knife in?

He doesn't love you,
So why do stick around?

Your mother loves you,
So why do you hate her?

Mostly I wonder,
Why do you hate yourself?
