Hanging Hope

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 24, 2010

Thought about it after the first lie
Knew it after the second
Life was never going to be
What we said we wanted

There were moments of love
They were not strong enough
Never did overcome the sabotage
Now just a burning memory

Hope stills hangs on their corners
It always did have a hard time letting go
Propelled by the heart
Undeterred by the logical mind

What funny creatures we are
Wanting, needing, lusting for love
Yet, in the very same breath
Trying vigorously to kill it

But love will not die
All we accomplish killing
Are little pieces of our own souls
Once again, hope, hanging on for the future
