In Song

by Emily   Dec 3, 2010

It seems like I can never
Run out of things to say
About you.
All I can do is assume.

Assume about your new life,
Your new love...
When in the past,
I was your love, in your life.

Maybe not the love "of" your life
Maybe just a girl you liked
Maybe a girl you would want to make your wife.

It felt like things were the same,
Maybe even better.

I don't want to keep rambling on.
I can't have you in person
But I can have you in song.

If that's all I'll ever get,
Then I guess
I'll be "Miserable at Best"

You; who can replace you?
When I think about finding someone new,
I just think of how they can't compare to you.
