Love on the rocks

You say I dont understand you or feel what you say
How can I when I feel the same way
Fights break out and the air turns cold
Then we exchange words that sound so bold
Hurtful things is what we spewed toward one another
Feeling useless in this relationship so even bother
You say you love me and I too you
But why do I get the feeling that we are so thru
You lit what I wanted so long ago
But many times now I try to put on a show
Our age difference wages a giant war
And my presence to you seems like such a bore
I tried to combine our lives with strength from way deep
But it clashes, the love drains and on the ground seeps
Your actions are not rational
Due to, as you say being young take it national
This tug and pull is not fair to either of us
So maybe we should end this
Here we are at the edge on the brink
Wanting to jump thinking do I float or I sink
My emotions are so mixed
Will this situation ever be fixed
