The Mask

My Emotions Get The Best Of Me.
Why Can't I Just Rest Peacefully?
Why Can't They Vanish From My Brain
Or Just Find Someone Else To Blame?
The Elmer's Glue Is Wearing Off.
I Swear I Tried To Make It Stop,
But My Perfect Smile Is Fading Fast.
I'm Forced To Throw Away My Mask.
For My True Emotions Bleed Right Through
And My Will To Fight Has Withered, Too.
My Face Is Exposed For All To Stare
While I Stand There, So Unprepared.
My Heart Is Pounding In My Chest.
So Much For Getting Time To Rest.
You Stare At Me As I Stare Back.
I Find It Quite Hard Not To Ask;
You Loved Me When The Mask Was On
Will You Love Me Now That It Is Gone?
