A man for a lesson

by shadows poet   Dec 8, 2010

So many times I've lost my way,
Unsure of where to go.
Gathering strength to carry on,
unsure of what I know.
Until the day I met a man,
Who taught me lifes a gift.
He reached out his friendly hand,
And gave my heart a lift.
He altered my perspection,
On how to look at life.
His beautiful smile cascades perfection,
one look and I know I'll be alright.
Often times I think of him,
Normaly when I'm feeling low.
I remember him telling me,
How he thinks its such a pity that some know how to love but not how to let love go.
He left my world so abruptly,
I didn't have time to blink.
But the memory of him is so lovley,
Its peaceful to be able to sit and think.
I loved this man for who he is and what he represents,
His unforgettable lessons,
His invigorating, heart melting first kiss.
And here I am learning to let go of my past,
The memory of him never fades,
But I'm at peace at last.
I know that I'm a lucky number,
I don't dwell on what "use to be".
After all he taught me not to slumber,
There's a bright future awaiting me.
