The Blue Bead

by TheVampire   Dec 10, 2010

A beautiful summer day, sitting on a bench.
I hear the sweetest sound,
on the ground rolls a blue bead.
I pick it up accepting its thoughtful request to find me,
on this bench.

I put this bead on a chain, but one day the chain broke.
No worries! I have another.
I took it everywhere.
It was my honorable charm.

I adore this blue bead, for it had brought me happiness.
I went on a walk, picked at some irises.
What a beautiful summer day.

Now winter is arriving, and the my beautiful iris shivers.
Too cold to continue, it withers in my hand.
No worries! I have my wonderful blue bead.
What is this? So cold it's too cold?
The blue bead cracks...
No! Please don't break my lovely blue!
It shatters off the chain onto my shoes.

I raise my hands to my eyes,
that start to roll tears.
My only peice of happiness, now shattered.
