A Matter of Time

by Zak   Jan 2, 2011

The time will come,
It always has, it always will.
Its only a matter of time
You'll see, so will I,
So will the rest of mankind.
We tend to expect that our higher intelligence grants us a higher state of being,
But this is an obvious fallacy.
Everybody knows the time must come,
They just pretend it won't.
If you repeat a lie enough times, many will believe it.
And so the human race has done for thousands of years.
They perpetuate the idea of eternity through countless outlets.
They build monuments to the false gods
They stand inside the massive rock sculptures and declare "It is grand, it is above your weak death, and I am a part of it!"
As long as you join them, you too can stand within the house of idols.
But Death has shown again and again that it is stronger than we can even imagine.
The idea always haunts us.
We deny and den and deny.
We do not understand, so some declare it an impossibility.
The true impossibility is that eternity which those "Believers" hold so close.
