Just a Dream

by Good Enough   Jan 7, 2011

Alone. I lay far beneath the earth.
Craving a glimpse of a shimmering light, a glow.
The smell of lilacs haunt me. Reminds me of death.
Fragrance surrounds my cold, lifeless body.

Oh, how I wish to dance again.
To feel, to hear, to see one more glimpse of life.
But I, alone, lay far from anyones touch.
Away from anyones loving heart.

Silence forms around my soul.
Realizing.. that I.. will never.. breathe again
Nor will i hear a heart again!
not even the softest baby's cry.. again.

Alone I try to wait this out.
Loosing every grip on sanity that had.
But death.. is a loss of everything.
Loss of hope. dreams. a future. a loss of love.

Oh, how I wish that this was.. Just a dream..

A poem of imagination and terror. You did a wonderful combination of lovely things you misss and what you're going through. Not sure that is exactly what I wanted to say but great job
