Dragon Poem

by Stephanie Cullen   Jan 14, 2011

Beware of the dragon with golden scales
Beware of the keepers of hills and vales
Up mountains high, down valleys low
Beware the fear those dragons sow

Beware, young shepherd, as you watch your sheep
‘Tis not the beasts the dragon will eat
Beware, brave warrior, on your way back home
Beware, tall elves, beware small gnome

For there is no creature on this blessed land
That can stand before, with sword in hand
A dragon of gold and still hope to win
Run, small coward, back to your kin
