Saboteur

by sibyllene   Jan 30, 2011

Little cat with her shining eyes
drapes a tail around my brain. She
flicks with the tip, once, twice, and there I go
fingers to the scalding burner, toes
in the frigid water, fingers grazing the metal
I know will shock. There I go
tossing one more shot of fire down my throat,
watch me fly at 80 down an open road,
letting my eyes rest shut
just one more second.
Little cat with slow-blinking eyes
and her claws at the back of my neck,
digs, digs, and there I go.
Little cat, you'll kill us both.
