It happens all the time.

I remember walking out that door
not feeling too sure
if i was to see you again

the 28th of January, one cold look
and out the door i went
you and i both knew that i was spent
then i heard that front door crack
i didn't expect to see you when i looked back

10 degrees outside, i could feel my tears start to warm my cheeks
i turn to see no jacket, or shoes to find on your feet

all your mom saw was you and me
gazing into each others eyes
oh baby just like old times.

you look into my blood shot swollen eyes
you kissed me like you never kissed before
took my breathe away and then i feel back to earth
and reality hit me, that i had to leave you once more

oh, it happens all the time
when i can see it in your eyes
that you wish you could take it all back
we can just sing all this pain away
oh, it happens all the time
so just sing your favorite tune
i promise we'll forget about it here real soon
i know our voices are out of key
but it still sounds so cute to me
baby it happens all the time

I'll tape all the pictures back
I'll get my mood swings back on track
i promise ill change to be everything you want
and everything you need

it happens all the time
that fear takes over our blood
and we fear that we're never good enough
it happens till we break
and we just threw everything we had, away.

but baby come with me
there's something you need to see
if you are the moon then i am the stars
see i can still feel you no matter how far

if you are my lyric and i am your song
you'd be my purpose and I'd find i belong
you'd be the notes and I'd be the key
we can do this together just you and me.
