A Lifetime To Love You

by Carolyn Falls   Mar 14, 2011

If you were here, I would whisper, "I love you".
In the cool of the morning air, I would wrap my arms around you.

If you were here I would tell you, "I've missed you".
If you were here I would press my lips to yours.

If you were here I would ask you to share this day with me.
A day just for us.

A day to cry and forgive,
A day to laugh and love.

If you were here, I would scream, "I love you".
If you were here I would ask you to marry me.

In one moment I could say these words.
In one day I could show you passion and desire.
But it would take a lifetime to love you.
