The sounds of night

by Dramaqueen   Mar 16, 2011

You are screamin', crying',
yellin' out loud.

And I sit in my room,
turn on the stereo,
and try to drown out the noise.

I hear you speak,
saying things about me.
Not caring;
about the effect
your words have.

So I sit in my room,
turn on the stereo,
and try to drown out the noise.

I see your face,
hear your anger,
and feel your wrath.

Why can't I be good enough?
What is wrong?
Why am I ashamed to be me?

When I sit in my room,
turn on the stereo,
and try to drown out the noise.
