Underneath the Dark.

by cabbageumbrellas   Mar 24, 2011

I wanna watch the way you move,
across my skin like the breath from your lips,
like fire burning to my bones,
you break me in ways no one else can.
shattered beneath the sheets of dreams,
im blind to everything but those eyes,
intensity radiating like light in the dark,
they pierce though my body with fierceness.
dont leave me here like this,
cold and alone underneath the weight,
crushing down on my skull,
it pulls my mind away from you.
my grip is slipping on reality,
and im scared i'll fall into this pit,
where dreams stay dreams and nothing more,
my body is becoming nothing but brittle bones.
you were always here to put the pieces back together,
mending them softly with your words,
your beautiful voice like a sweet, sweet song,
and when its okay, its okay.
you're fading like the light below the horizon,
my fingertips cant grasp this reality anymore,
slipping away in time like the tears from my eyes,
i'll sleep underneath these dreams tonight,
and never let go...
