A single rose

by Miss Lonely Teacher   Apr 20, 2011

A single rose
with thorns removed
it's petals close
it's purpose proved.

one night was given
for it to find
one so driven
yet clear of mind.

as the child reached
and gave a tug
the rose did teach
the child it hugged.

now the child, all grown
keeps the rose in a book
and often is prone
to take a quick look
at what once was shown
and the path she then took
