Erasing herself

She was 12
when she started
to cut,
at first it started out
as small scratches
and turned into an
addiction

She was 13
when she started to
hang out downtown,
with the wrong people
putting herself in the
worst situations

She was 14
when she dropped out
of high school,
although she is very smart
school is difficult for her.

She was 15
when she started
to drink
it started as a weekend thing
have a beer,
get drunk with friends

She was 16
when she started
binge drinking,
blacking out,
starting to loose herself

She was 17
when a guy forced her
to have sex
while she was drunk.

And now she will be 18 in 1 week,
sleepless nights, drinking everyday
erasing herself
drinking away her past,
nobody knows that she is me.
