My Best Friend

by JustABurden   Apr 27, 2011

They say its my fault,
that i feel this way.
com on, just choose to smile!
i try my hardest,
but my lips just wont curve.
"maybe she should see a shrink"
my parents sometimes think.
i only feel worse,
when these comments i hear.
so with salt comes a tear
and to my room i run to hide.
my room is my cave, my savior.
no light comes through,
no color, just black and white.
everything matches
except for my best friend.
maybe you know him
he bites and tears,
flashes silver and drips red.
its this friend that i now seek.
water in my eyes
my friend in hand
looking in the mirror, i try once more
but these lips of mine refuse to curve.
with a shriek and a scream
i let my friend destroy
dripping red on white carpet.
blackness fills my eyes
and its now i smile-
because it all ends tonight.
