Beloved Ida (Sonnet)

by YoYoLoverJSRF   Apr 27, 2011

A smile that shines brighter than the stars
Caring woman; none before can compare to
A wise woman; one we all love, too
Whose delicious treats could even end wars

Even though you left us, we shall not cry
For the love you gave us shall be our guide
So the memories of you cannot die
We love you, Ida; do not ask us why

Look upon us from your throne up above
And we'll smile; our treasure has been saved
Never again will you be left behind

You gave us hope in forms of food and love
Who shared dreams to those who had dreams to crave
Beloved Ida; with a brilliant mind

WE MISS YOU, IDA SHAW!! - R.B.Russell
