A Crystal Heart

by Princess Victory   May 9, 2011

Diamond dolls with ruby eyes,
Fairy tales of love and lies.
Wondrous treasures and works of art;
These are the things in a little girl's heart.
Princesses and rainbows and unicorns too,
Dreams of the day she'd say "I do."
An imagination run wild with ponies and flowers,
And friends on the phone she could talk to for hours.
Countless laughs and endless love,
Peace, pure as a beautiful white dove.
Little did we know, that deep inside
She had a little bit of a secret to hide.
Her love for a boy just grew and grew,
But she didn't know if he loved her too.
So she hid her feelings behind a mask.
However, she knew it was made of glass.
And once he left, she cried and cried,
For he would never know the secret she hid inside.
After a few days of crying, he came back one day.
She decided to tell him the secret before he went away.
And as she told him the love she had,
He had something else to add.
"I knew you loved me, and I loved you too.
I just didn't know if your love was true.
I'm sorry; I believe I should've told you from the start,
I will care for you always; you and your crystal heart."
