In-between the worlds of sleep and awake

by Mads Avnboeg   May 11, 2011

I am lost somewhere
In-between the world of consciousness and sleep
Strolling along in the land of daydreams
My mind hasn't quite been the same
Since the day I saw you
It's running on repeat,
Constantly returning to you
If I could pause it!
Just to get some work off my hands

But my mind keep circling right back to you
It's driving me crazy,
Almost to the verve of insanity
If sleep could give me
Some tranquility and peace of mind
But even here you invade
And take over the space
Continuously present, like air,
I can't grab you and hold you tight

The only thing that would help me,
Get you of my mind
Is to get you into my life,
And into my bed
So that I can fall asleep
Knowing you are just a kiss away
And that you are here to stay

I am trying to write you a letter,
But the letters keep jumping of the paper
And run of to you,
Even before they have made a sentence
Or a four letter word,
They are as eager to get to you as I am,
I can't hold them in my mind,
Or get them down on the paper

Please take this little note
Saying I love you
And wish you were by my side
Please come my way
Cause my heart and mind
Can't get in line
When you are not around
