Love for my Parents

I haven't always been
The daughter you both deserved
In fact at times
I've probably be a pain.
You have always been there for me
Through the stormy rain
When times got tough
I even ran away
To ashamed of things I’d done.
And then I even moved away
But as time goes by,
I realise you are always there,
Helping me get through
All my own despair.
Sometime you told me,
Just pick yourself up and start again.
My life has been full of heart ache and pain.
But your love for me
Has always remained the same.
If I had been given the choice
To pick my parents
I'd pick you both again.
I never went without anything
You gave me all you could
Not what I wanted
But what I needed
And that was your forever
LOVE
Lots and lots of love
Sharon

I loved the raw emotion in your words, gave much depth. It's crazy how we can grow up thinking the parents we have weren't the ones we needed, only to grow up and realize, that they were perfect for us. Powerful write.
    Take care
