Loaded Guns and Candy Shops

by pieces of joshua   May 16, 2011

Dawn breaks, and shatters an endless night.
The Sun rises on a setting life.
There is no dark or light,
When grey is day and night,
And we all hold loaded guns upon our tongues.

Silent screams spill from you're lips, well, I hear.
When a mouth full of bullet has never tasted so good,
Speak to pull the trigger.
Release the weight of the world.
You'll never remember if first you can't forget.

A memory can never fade, while scars remain the same.
The past will be the cancer that courses trough my veins.
An epic on the wrists,
A hand print on the heart.
Dawn could break ten thousand times, before a day has passed.

This is such a sad piece. Full of emotion and depth. A really touching story about some trying to find a reason to remain here when all that's left is darkness. I can relate to this poem a lot. Nice to see some new talent here :] Hope you keep writing dear. Keep your head up. oh and welcome to the site. -Nik
