Kisses Softer Than Rose Pedals

by Good Enough   May 19, 2011

Your anguish, it scares me
As your beating me into the ground
And the words that fall from your lips
Leave me broken, confused

I am the one supporting myself
And believe me, it's not a pretty sight
Your hands are shaking, but I stand still
Waiting. waiting. waiting for it.

You grab my arms, in case I run
The feeling of your heat on me sends shivers
Down my spine and up once more
For this time, I am scared

But, you draw closer with your eyes in mine
And your hands placed firmly on me
"I'm sorry" leaks from your throat
I want to believe all of this is true

You kiss me once right on the cheek
And then again planted on my lips
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Its running through my head
And you wait for my reponse as I am speachless

And all I can say to you, which is ridiculous is,
"babe, your fist kisses softer than rose pedals
I'm scared of the past and babe, I'm scared of you"
He smiled. Just smiled. and walked away.
