Goodbye, Old Friend

by Taylor   May 22, 2011

I knew the world was ending, but not our friendship
From the beginning of time to the end of our lives
Doomsday seemed so far away
It came sooner than expected, you want to say goodbye
Stood by your side, held your hand
Rested my cheek on against your head while you cried
I ranted and raved, but in the end came around
But you still want to say goodbye
Friends come and go, but you always remained
Now you have thrown me to the side
You took down our pictures, crossed out my name
Because you just want to say goodbye
Three years passed by too quickly
This choice was all on you to decide
I'll never understand what went wrong
As long as you want to say goodbye
Distance overcame, we drifted away
And I'll always be wondering why
The moment is yet come for us to stand, face to face
Never thought I'd see the day, that you'd want to say goodbye
