Light

by Thomas Pender   May 30, 2011

I hold a key gleaming
before a door of silvered hue
where beams held on high
transfix hope

I see a cosmic dance
of pyramids and sphinx
echoed for the stars
in Orion

I feel a soul shining
through the rising dawn
where a million million rainbows
coruscate in glee

I hear the sea breaking
on shores of gleaming white
where nature holds a future
for us all

I speak warm words of learning
from tomes of ancient lore
wisdom drawn from ages
set in rhyme

I walk with winged angels
on stones of precious jade
where gates of fire stand open
for the pure
