In Exaltation

by Thomas Pender   May 30, 2011

Will you call to me
in the sun burnished landscape
where clouds of silver dance
and echoes on an endless shore
whisper to my soul

Will you look for me
in havens of warm redemption
where flowers in hard wild dances
drink the light splendoured soul
of a cool morning glory

Will you speak to me
with words of pure solace
whispered in the tender majesty
of the haunting dappled shadows
of the last Elms

Will you dream of me
when the warm wind blows
and the friends of homeland call
over hearths of true succour
from the wild

Will you sing to me
in a chorus of magic cadance
and the wings of angels beat
to the music of the eons
down the wind

Will you cry for me
when all the treasures fade
in a sweep of nature's magnificence
where my heart will soar
in a final exaltation
