A Moment

by Thomas Pender   May 30, 2011

In the clearing I stand
lost in my dreamscape
a moment
taken from the rush of life
clasped as a treasure
and held

Trees stand high
pinnacles of wonder
to tired eyes
Rain gleaming on fresh green
a cloud's annointing
balms for the weary

Flowers in varied hue
grasses wild swaying
in caressing breezes
A bird calls
defience in the tone
across this shadowed glade

And I must leave
Life's reality beckons
The moment passed
for now
But it will come again
to lave my soul
