Runaway Fathers

by Silentblond   Jun 7, 2011

Can you hear the lonely men
Arrived home to find their family dead
All thats left of them is silence
They raise their hands to the God
Screaming what have we done
Grasping at the fallen guidance

Heart wieghed down from dispair
They lost all they ever cared
Due to their absence in life
Bodies of their kids now lay
When once in the past they did obey
Chopped up from a fatherless knife

Wives with eyes made of glass
A love that was supposed to last
Taken from the cold of their heart
They cried before they realized
That returning was too idealized
And now forever they will be apart

Runaway fathers return to kill
To force down that little pill
Of bitterness that they bring along
Crushed hopes brought back from the dead
Only to be forced to wed
To Let Down and once again be proven wrong

So here's to you, a glass of deprive
You will drink from it the rest of your life
No longer able to return to the living
We forever banish you
Until you have finally proved
You're worth of our hard deserved forgiving

But until that day finally comes
Never it will be for some
Here's a hearty dish of I hate you
For it may be easy for you to forget
But I will always regret
Ever letting you get through

This poem is somewhat of a 'read between the lines'. Some might not get it and some will.
