Pretend

by H E Losey   Jun 11, 2011

My mind's cinema
Memories playing
It has been a while
Years gone in passing

Yet I remember
All those golden days
Sharing our laughter
In so many ways

A smile lit my life
A touch thrilled my heart
Together as one
Yet lost when apart

I rewind the film
Not seeing the end
That happiness lost
So, I must pretend.

    "My minds cinema
    Memories playing
    It has been a while
    Years gone in passing"

    Fix first line error there.
I love the ease & flow of memories playing like photographs sliding by....years that have been recorded in your mind for safe keeping.

    "Yet I remember
    All those golden days
    Sharing our laughter
    In so many ways"

Simple yet touched with something that is rare and something we can all hope to yearn for and hold dear later on in life.

    "A smile lit my life
    A touch thrilled my heart
    Together as one
    Yet lost when apart"

Love the tangible feel of this- what an action or gesture can do to pull yours hearts closer.

    "I rewind the film
    Not seeing the end
    That happiness lost
    So, I must pretend."

Melancholy ending, the almost denial of not wanting to realize the finished part....the pieces & sounding notes lost..pretending there is so much more.

    Simple yet overpowering.
Good to read from you after so long.
Take care in this summer month.
