Drive for a life

by alyssa   Jun 29, 2011

A young man went on a drive to search for his life,
maybe seeking kids, a job, a wife,
thinking what he had acquired in his youth,
was merely a lie and he deserved the truth,
he started with books to read of wisdom,
text speaking of life, knowledge and freedom,
and the brilliance the youth had to behold,
a type becoming, fulfilling and bold,
to become the best was a unworthy thought,
for better than the best the man sought,
the job of a king and a wife that would glow,
must be what the end of this drive would show,
but when his breaks pulled to a screeching halt,
the alone old me he became was his own fault,
instead of taking what he was offered the man daydreamed to long,
listening to the birds wonderful songs,
so is an ending of a life dreamed and never seized,
and the ending to a man who chose to never be pleased.
