The loss of contact with my friends

I used to live where I knew everyone
It was a small town
And then
I moved to a big city
I had no friends and I was lonely
I missed my dearest friends
And they missed me
We wrote letters and emailed each other
Then one day a person replaced me in my little town
And
I never heard from my friends again
But I'm not going to give up writing to them
I'm going to keep writing and emailing until I get a message from my friends
And when that day comes I will still write to my dearest friends
