Mask

by Natalie   Jul 14, 2011

You look in the mirror
To find who you are
You've tripped, stumbled,
You display every scar.

I am who I am
But who I am I despise
Just look at me,
See with your eyes.

I am my own soldier,
I am standing tall
I am a lonely soldier
Building my own wall.

I put on a mask,
Become someone new
Step away from my wall
Somehow just like you.

Now I look in the mirror
You're all I can see,
In a way I forgot
That person isn't me.

I hide again
Behind my stone wall
Hiding within it,
From judgment I may befall.
