Cat and Mouse

by BurriedFaceDown   Jul 27, 2011

Slowly I slither,
Back to my abandoned hole,
Back to where I belong,
Where madness takes its toll,

I rock on my heels,
Swaying back,
And then forth,
Ready for an attack,

Mumbling meaningless curses,
Clenching my small damaged hands,
As I let your words blacken my heart,
Furious I ever listened to your selfish demands,

I've taken note of you for so long,
Cherished your word like its scripture,
Defending your godforsaken honor,
Oh indeed it was an "adventure",

Endlessly I poured my love,
So effortlessly you toss it aside,
I can't take it anymore,
You're as two-faced as Jekyll and Hyde,

Insanity to compassion,
In a breath of a moment,
Yet forever I am bound to you,
Like the dead to their casket,

Perpetually I will let you eat at me,
Until you've turned me inside-out,
Until the sun ceases existence,
Until body and soul give out,

For now though,
I wait in my pathetic hole,
Waiting for you to come play,
To dominate and control,

I bite my fingers in fear,
When will you be back?
I curl up to become small,
Why must my hole be pitch black?

I rock on my heels,
Swaying back,
And then forth,
Ready for an attack,
In our game of cat and mouse,
