Faking the Smiles

When you look into my eyes what can you see?
Do you see the amber tears ready to wash over me?
Can you see the pain that my heart seems to feel?
I've tried so hard but I can no longer keep concealed.

I've been waiting for something to keep me happy.
But I don't want love, if it's gonna be sappy.
I want that sparrow inside me to flutter away.
