Days Burning Like Candles

The days burn like candles
And the light never fades
But leaves the room dimmed
So I'm sitting in the shade.

I think of you in the corners
Of the darkened little room
Where my heart sits lonely
But happily thinking of you.

I wonder how to show you
In new ways my dedication.
How can I prove my worth
Without causing frustration?

I write you daily
Think of you gaily
But it doesn't feel enough
I'm still forming new ways
To show love that is not rough.

I see a shinning light,
So bright,
At the end of this long tunnel.
You're standing under the sun
As small as the tip of a funnel.

I walk fast and then I run
Hoping you'll wait for me.
I don't see you move at all
Maybe its a mirage I see.

I wake up feeling you near
But you're never really there.
Soon enough we'll be together
And you'll be forever everywhere.
