Forgiveness Of

by Rahlan Kodai Ensk   Aug 17, 2011

Always can you accept my words,
My apology.
But for me, the regret remains.
I don't accept my own.
And yet, I think I can break free of that hold.
If you but just smile for me.
Let me trace that smile,
And hold its memory always.
Let me treasure everything about you.
Your kindness, your warmth.
That scent on the air, the presence close by.
I treasure.. What we have, because I know.
Now, in my heart I can believe that we share.
Something unbreakable.
All because of a simple apology.
Reach out your hand and I'll be there to grasp it.
Hold these hands that reach for you.
When I catch myself staring at the full moon.
Wondering, if our eyes had met.
At that same bright spot in the night sky.
My heart becomes relieved. Because,
My stupid worries.
You understand them all.
I know that you'll always understand.
Which is why I'm glad for you,
And that you're in my life.
Stay, always?
I won't ever run from you.
I won't ever, show you my back.
Let me twine my fingers with yours,
And hold you close.
The feel of your hair, soft between my fingers.
A wonderful intimacy.
For us to share.
Watch the clouds drift by,
Listen to the soft Tick, Tock.
The silent moments we can share.
I can't wait.
Do you dream of it too?

Poetic aside.
Really,
I am sorry.
