Tomorrow sounds better than you

by she means nothing   Sep 7, 2011

Yesterday,
you were every dandelion wish i would make
and your voice seemed like the perfect soundtrack of my life
i knew i'd write you songs
but i never thought they would be sad
and maybe these songs i write you
shouldn't be the only way i can tell you things anymore

today,
i heard something that turned your picture upside down
and your smile didn't seem so perfect anymore
lies are still lies
even when they are everything you ever wanted to hear
and maybe you were better off pretending you care
since you can't keep a secret for your life

tomorrow,
you'll finally have forgotten that three-syllable name
and i won't remember that one syllable that is you
that's all you are
and you can't know what i'm thinking if i'm far away
and maybe tomorrow sounds better than you
but i can't take your scent off of it.
