Free of the Grey

by Jordan W   Sep 8, 2011

Alone in a world full to brimming
I sit and wonder
What makes me different?
What makes me less?
I sit and wonder
And I sit and melt
Slowly I detract
Slowly I turn away
Alone in a town filled past bursting
I walk and wonder
What sets me apart?
What sets me below the rest?
I walk and wonder
Slowly I find myself surrounded by less
Slowly I find myself no longer caring
Alone in a school with thousands
I stare silently at a grey world
Finally I no longer feel a need to belong
Finally I realize I am not less
I stare silently at a grey world
I am a colour amongst these shades
I have no need to be like the rest
Alone in my own mind with thoughts unending
I lie down and dream
And awaken to a world filled with vibrance
And awaken to a world filled with more like me yet not
I lie down and dream
I no longer wish to wake
For here.
I. Am. Free.
