Solo in love

by Yakari Gabriel   Sep 19, 2011

You were never anything
but,
the composer of my daylight

a magician who kindled the
stars within my eyes
when all I could see
was the shades of black
and grey.

And I was never anything
but a banal dream, full of
heart-shaped yearnings

too caught up in skies
of us,
when all along
I was the only one that loved

The first stanza had me. I LOVED that bit. I thought it was so interesting and adore the use of composer/daylight. ;)

That ending rocked, too. I liked the entire poem but really think that ending was solid. It brought a new feel, kind of a twist I felt. Lovely, ladies!

    Yaki,

I really like how well Nano and your style mesh well together, your poetry is always heart felt and together you compliment one and one.

I was automatically enticed by the beginning of the poem, it captured me! The idea of someone being the composerof your daylight, what an elegant way to say that someone was your brightness, your happiness. The symbolism here was lovely. I then loved how magican came into it, of course magicians are illusive and it described the character you were speaking of so nicely.

The ending fits perfectly in my opinion, I adored it, the simplicity of it is what grasped me and yet the emotion was raw, deep. Sometimes things have to be said simply as I told you today with one of my poems..

Well done to the two of you. A magical write.

What a sad poem. Its all in the title, but somehow the poem, reading it, its gets you a step closer to sadness. The lenght is really good, not long, but you packed it all there, what you wanna say and thats an awesome job. All in all, this is one great sad poem.
