The Ferris Wheel

by Joshua   Sep 20, 2011

What is a blessing to most, is a torment to me.
It holds me down, while setting the rest of them free.
What binds me to fear, holds them in bliss.
I watched as it faded, to that distant abyss.

The love that once lived, a love that once thrived,
Was never for me, as I saw in her eyes.
I see now the truth, that I cannot dismiss.
The girl that I love, I met before this.

I can still hear her laughter, and still see her smile.
Every minute beside her, was a minute worth while.
Every feeling I felt, still awaits in the midst.
There's no way to describe it, as such words don't exist.

These words, I can't say, these words, she can't hear.
For silence may fall, into her, which I fear.
Her reply will depend, on my sole use of words.
Such a love I can't risk, on what cannot be heard.
