Down Your Path

by Bobby   Oct 8, 2011

You make a poor choice
You learn of something unreal
So you question yourself
On how you really feel

You look down your path
You wonder if it is better alone
You look behind you where you have been
You reach down and pick up a stone

As you glance at it you remember
Christ said he who is without may toss the first one
You feel the hurt and touch the tears
Inside you it isn't over or undone

You know it is much easier
to forgive another than oneself
You know your not perfect
You realize your no longer yourself

The past is the past
Each moment changes you
Questioning everything
What about you is still true

Wondering what happen
where have you wandered off to
What happen to the person
You really thought you knew

You kneel and pray
Asking for wisdom
Not knowing when
it might come

Standing back up it still not there
The answer you need
The easiest thing to do
Is to give up and concede

From just a child dealing with
the bully of the playground
You've fought all your life
Can once again you rebound

You look down your path
you wonder if it is better alone
You look behind you where you have been
and where you are as you pick up a stone
