Constant burns

by Dylan   Oct 11, 2011

A shattered soul never walks alone
a broken heart never sets the tone
curving the rules and bending the truth
memories and thoughts of this will never just go poof
my mind running 100x the bodies reaction timing
falling down from the sky and yet still climbing
falling falling falling with no hands to pick me up
never finishing the bottle and pouring the rest into my paper cup
where it may overflow but at least it keeps going and finds its own way on its journey
fighting fire with liquor and it will still find a way to burn me
my journey will not be short but full of its twists and turns
continuing the endless flush of lifes toilet bowl even when it burns
skin peeling and head spinning my twists and turns have already struck
get knocked down and out like getting hit by a semi truck
get back up with burns still fresh and road rash from bottom to top
but believe the pain that still lingers will eventually stop
