I hear the sounds of the city,
longing to be in the country,

I feel my heart bleeding,
doesn't seem to be healing,

a deep sorrow is filling me,
no colors can I see,

shades of grey surround,
no smiles to be found,

mark off each day,
as they quickly drift away,

so many promises made,
seem to slowly fade,
