Dead Flower

by Lofallenve   Oct 19, 2011

As he gave her a flower--
its scent alluring and seductive;
he kept his vivid green eyes awry,
A symbol of trust and dedication--
his eyes never met hers in promise;
Instead they followed her faithfully--
She held the flower in her hand;
Its beauty just beginning to fade--
with eyes of a different hue;
she followed his main sight of view--
The sun falls in its warming way--
Her hair golden upon her shoulders--
His eyes of a vivid green;
a color she used to adore--
never looking upon her in such a way;
with hands wanting to touch--
hands she used to kiss;
with a broken heart still needing--
a piece she never received,
from her hands a flower falls.

    Funny how over time what one hopes will be love, doesnt turn out that way, I like the way this poem describes this.
