The Battle Within

by Anne   Oct 25, 2011

Walks through the day with a gleam in her eye
Striving to complete the duties of life
Narrowly missing the arrows they fire
Attempts to stand strong but begins to tire.

Weakened by the battle she begins to crumble
Family and friends no longer among her
Seeks refuge but continues to stagger
The perils of life are here to badger.

Tears roll down her cheeks as she silently cries
The pain and anguish to difficult to hide
Resistance is weak as she fumbles around
Takes her last breath without making a sound
